Frequently Asked Questions
- How to measure for a correct quilt hanger width?
- Hangers are quoted as “inside width”. The overall outside width will be 1½”-2” more.
- Should the actual width of the quilt exactly match the inside width of the hanger?
- Not necessarily. The quilt can be right up to the inside width of the hanger. However, many customers order a wider hanger than most of their quilts – so quilts of various widths will fit the hanger and can be changed out regularly.
- Some of our customers also use a wide hanger to hold multiple quilts.
- What are the standard widths?
- 24,” 36”, 48”, 60”, and 72”
- Are custom widths available?
- Yes. For quilts hangers more than 90” wide – please contact us.
- What types of wood is available?
- Wood Choice: Maple (M), Oak (O), Walnut (W), Mahogany (H) Cherry (C)
- Are custom wood types available?
- Please advise wood type preferred and we will let you know if it is available and we will submit a quote to you.
- Can the hangers be bought unfinished or painted?
- Yes – For unfinished, please provide wood preference
- Painted – Quilt hangers will be constructed from a poplar wood. Paint colors can be requested. Otherwise we can provide a Benjamin Moore ® paint chip for approval. All painted hangers will have a final “clear coat” protection applied.
